Sixth Form – Enrichment
Enrichment at Newent Community School Sixth Form
At Newent Community School Sixth Form, enrichment is a vital part of our students’ journey. Its purpose is to broaden horizons beyond the classroom, nurture personal growth, and prepare young people for life after Sixth Form. Through a wide range of opportunities—whether academic, creative, sporting, or community-focused—enrichment helps students develop the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to thrive in higher education, employment, and society.
Enrichment is not just about adding extra activities; it is about shaping well-rounded individuals who can make a positive difference in the world. By engaging in enrichment, students discover new interests, strengthen existing talents, and build the character that underpins success both now and in the future. All of our students are expected to complete six core enrichment activities during their time at Newent Sixth Form.
Linking Enrichment to Our HEART Values
Our enrichment programme is deeply connected to the HEART values that define Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre:
Honesty: Students learn to reflect truthfully on their strengths and areas for growth, developing integrity in their actions and choices.
Excellence: Enrichment challenges students to aim high, pursue passions, and achieve their personal best in every endeavour.
Accountability: Taking part in enrichment requires commitment and responsibility, encouraging students to follow through on goals and contribute meaningfully.
Respect: Working with diverse groups and communities fosters empathy, understanding, and respect for others’ perspectives and experiences.
Teamwork: Many enrichment activities rely on collaboration, helping students build strong relationships and learn the value of working together towards shared success.
Through enrichment, our HEART values come to life, ensuring that every student leaves Sixth Form not only with academic qualifications but also with the character, skills, and experiences that prepare them for the future.
