Pupil Premium

The government introduced the Pupil Premium Grant in April 2011. This grant, which is additional to the main Academy funding, is seen by government as the best way to address the national inequalities between students eligible for free school meals (FSM), Looked After Children (LAC), service children and other students. The aim is to ensure that the funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the students who need it most.

The Pupil Premium sum is a clearly identified budget within whole school funding. The school decides how Pupil Premium is spent as it is best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for each of the individual students eligible for the funding within the school.
