Design and Technology
All students study this stimulating and varied subject. They experience designing through drawing, 2D and 3D CAD packages and via model making. Practically pupils work within a number of areas including Food, Textiles, Electronics, Wood, Metal and Plastics.
The Department has 8 well equipped learning areas, including a dedicated IT suite, where pupils design and manufacture using CAD/CAM.
At Key Stage 4 students have the opportunity to study a variety of highly successful courses, including GCSE’s in Design & Technology, Electronics and Food Preparation & Nutrition. The department also offers Level 1 & 2 Award in Hospitality & Catering and National level 1 & 2 Child Development.
At Keystage 5 the department offers A Level in Product Design, BTec level 3 in Health & Social Care and Level 3 Food Science and Nutrition.
Our aim is to provide the students with the very best teaching and facilities, to promote their confidence and competence across a broad spectrum of skills.
