Year 7 students receive first aid training from St John Ambulance

Research shows that seven out of 10 pupils wouldn’t know what to do if someone they knew was hurt, and yet the majority say they would like to learn first aid.

St John Ambulance came in to year 7 PSHE to teach the students vital life-saving skills. The session looked at

Communication and Casualty care

Primary survey

Choking

Resuscitation

Chest Pains

Recovery Position

The session, which incorporated  practical elements, helped the students to develop confidence in their ability to know what to do in an emergency situation.

As the nation’s leading first aid charity, St John Ambulance believes that every young person should have the chance to learn vital life saving skills.

The training provides students with the knowledge and confidence to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
