AS and A2 Results 2016
All our students are to be congratulated on their results with a pass rate of 99% but special mention goes to Tim Klee who achieved 3A* and 2As and who now is going to Imperial College London to read Physics, Dan Carpenter (1A* and 2Bs) reading Mathematics at Cardiff University, James Summerfield (1A* and 2Bs) reading Mathematics at Manchester University and Lydia Armstrong (1A and 2Bs) reading French and Italian at Cardiff University. Frank Un achieved a remarkable A* in Mathematics, B in Further Maths and C in Physics especially as English is his second language, he is going on to study Theoretical Physics at University.
We have students on a range of other University courses as diverse as Marine Biology, Childhood Studies, Economics, Broadcast Television and Electronic Engineering. We have high hopes of seeing three of our students finding success on the stage – Emma Gooch is going to study Musical Theatre at Portsmouth, Jen Bardsley-Taylor is going to study acting at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in Liverpool and Jacob Barlow is going to study Theatre and Performance at Plymouth.
Apprenticeships have proved popular this year and students have secured placements in a number of prestigious companies including Capgemini, Renishaw, Messier - Dowty (working on the Airbus) and Crowe Clark Whitehill.
Three students are taking Gap Years in far flung places including America, Kenya and Uganda and others have found employment.
There have been some notable AS successes – Eliza Taylor achieved straight As in Psychology, Sociology, Biology and History. Rebecca Millar achieved As in English, Drama, History and a B in German, Connor Nolan achieved an A in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics and a B in Chemistry, Isobel Goulding achieved A/A in Health and Social Care and a B in Psychology.
